As I continue to raise money to help me attend the Music Institute of Chicago Academy, I have received many generous opportunities. This past week, OI was fortunate to have had people host house concerts for me.
Laura Bender and John Early hosted a house concert at their Site Painter’s Studio in Portland. It was a great opportunity to share music with a wonderful and generous group of community members interested in classical music.
At the house concert, I performed pieces by Saint-Saens, Bach and others. I was fortunate to be accompanied by Esther Shim who is an accomplished violinist and pianist. I am honored she would help out. The Site Painters Studio is a great artistic space that was perfect for an intimate evening. Thank you Laura Bender and John Early for hosting me.
As we chatted after the concert, I realized once again, for young musicians like myself that it really does take a community to succeed. A thank you goes our to each person who came!
I performed at a second house concert, graciously hosted by Paul Reid. I believe that House concerts offer a wonderful way to highlight classical music. Many thanks to Paul and his community for helping me get closer to my music education goal.
At Paul’s house concert I was also accompanied on the piano by Esther Shim and truly appreciate her support. I was also delighted to have my sister Victoria perform a duet that we use when we go busking together. This summer we have helped each other reach our fundraising goals and I am fortunate to have such a great sister.
If you were not able to make it, please view my music videos (here) and consider making a donation to support classical music for the next generation.
